Wodonga Horse Racing Tips Tuesday 11th January 2011
Race 1 – 1100mtrs Maiden Plate – 01.00pm
This is a hard race with a few chances and what looks like plenty of donkeys. No 5 Powerhouse came back from the spell with a good run, looked a lot better returning and sure to have trained on. No 4 Lord Lawrence is first up from the spell, did trial well on the 4th of January. Has drawn badly in barrier 15 but will come in with scratching. No 7 Dooen another with a bad barrier but both runs this preparation have been good and must respect. No 11 Elakasam ran a nice trial on the 4th of January, is very light carrying only 51.5kgs so watch markets closely.
Race 2 – 1200mtrs 3yo 0 – 68 Handicap – 01.30pm
No 5 Indigo Dancer returns from a spell, won a trial on the 4th of January in good time. This horse ran 2nd to Sayahailmary making good ground on her late. Sayahailmary went on to run some promising races. No 1 Ferreus I have watched both his races a few times and he is a nice little horse. Last start was a very strong win and even with the extra weight should be able to repeat. No 7 A City Girl has been around the mark, last preparation ran some nice races. First up this preparation just never got going, looked a little underdone and I think will be more forward here. No 3 Everything’s Set has a good trial under his belt, first up here and on breeding should be looking for this distance or further. Look forward to seeing him race.
Race 3 – 2050mtrs Maiden Plate – 02.00pm
No 10 Kinnon has stepped up in distance each start this preparation. Has been around the mark and breeding should run this out. Last startled to the turn then run over but fought hard, if she can relax a little more and get a cart into the race a chance. No 7 Éclair Classic on breeding I like, last start ran a very good race fighting hard all the way. No 2 Chilled Red has two runs back this spell, last start was too wide the whole way and weakened in the straight, another if can relax and get cover a chance. No 4 Sunny is another horse that should like the distance, hasn’t been flash to date but last start did run a better race.
Race 4 – 1600mtrs Maiden Plate – 02.30pm
No 5 Mindovski out of a good stable and a good jockey on board, has been the bridesmaid 6 times, last start a solid run as he did a lot of work in the race and fought hard to the line. No 8 Blazing Lion was well beaten last start but did chase hard all the way to the line, Price a good trainer and watch markets. No 4 Like Nugget is a chance for the multiples, last start came home well from back of the field but never a threat. No 9 Currency Converter trained at the track by Cox, it could surprise and run in the places at nice odds.
Race 5 – 1600mtrs 0 – 68 Handicap – 03.00pm
No 3 Zoned In if starts will be coming home hard. last start just got too far back before working home nicely. No 5 Isabelle Lass another if start will be a chance. Her first run after coming down from Queensland was not good and forget. Her Queensland form was solid and sure Moroney will have her better here. No 1 Lethal Dealings Oliver and Rawiller combine to make a nice combination. Last start got held up and not clear till too late. Has two wins from two starts over 1600mtrs. No 4 Costa Mucho for the multiples.
Race 6 – 1200mtrs 0 – 72 Handicap – 03.30pm
No 10 Duplify will either run a blinding race or do nothing, a very hit and miss horse, last start win on Boxing Day here at Wodonga won leading all the way and in good time, drops a whopping 8.5kgs on that run with the claim only carrying 50kgs. No 6 Canny Groove if she is right will be hard to beat but watch markets for any moves. No 5 Show Bling fought hard for a win last start at Ballarat, has been around the mark most races. No 8 Supreme Commander first up run not so bad after running into Bushrod and have to respect this trainer. I am interested in seeing No 1 Bartholdi returned from a 634 day spell and did nothing special; has been around in the G2 Autumn Stakes and G1 Cadbury Guineas, was at long odds in these races and must watch markets here closely.
Race 7 – 2050mtrs 0 – 58 Handicap – 04.00pm
No 1 Hef is four runs back this preparation, this is an average race and a good chance. No 5 Diamondsarelucky is a distance horse; this is a good chance to break her 2000mtr duck. No 4 Ultimate Surprise is a chance in this average race, is 4 runs back this preparation and last start fought hard to run 2nd. Is not bred for this distance but could surprise. No 6 On Looks Alone for the multiples.
Race 8 – 1400mtrs 0 – 62 Handicap – 04.30pm
No 11 This Cat’s Magic another runner from Brian Cox, last start was a good win here at Wodonga. Found the line well and a chance to make it two in a row. No 2 John’s Gift watch markets closely, this is a nice horse won a trial back on November 17th and sure to have trained on and ready for this. No 7 Prussian Star worked home well first up from a 330 day spell, will want this distance or further. No 1 Dublebid forget first up run from the spell, is better than that and should be much improved.

Caulfield Horse Racing Tips Saturday 8th January 2011
Race 1 – 1100mtrs 2yo Plate – 12.50pm
This is a hard race to start the day, watch markets closely for any moves. No 2 Covered in Class $2.50 won well on debut at Mornington. Did win easily but will need to run a quicker time as the 1-0.93 will be too slow to win this but did look to have plenty in the tank. No 5 Flor Do Mar $4, like her first two race runs, both very promising. Last start here at Caulfield over the 1000mtrs was good and found the line well late. No 6 Holdontoyahorses $11 won at Seymour on debut, I have watched this run a few times and it was very nice. She really hit the line hard full of running. Out of a good stable and Oliver on board will give evry chance at nice odds. Watch markets on the No 3 and No 4 as both first up and breeding they should run forward races.
Race 2 – 1100mtrs 3yo Handicap – 01.30pm
No 1 Éclair Flyer $2.50 looks hard to beat, is in good form and this could easily be three wins in a row here. This horse will get better with distance. No 2 Typeface $4.60, this young colt is still learning but I like his talent and will get better with racing. With the 3kg claim here is light carrying 54.5kgs and last start was an excellent run over 1200mtrs here at Caulfield. Ran a forward race taking the lead into the straight briefly and then laid in down the straight. No 5 Chelembra $21 is way overs to me. This horse won well on debut then went down to Éclair Flyer last start. Got away slowly and then sat wide with no cover, found the line well and drops to only 52kgs. No 4 Warm Love $3.50 if you watch her last 5 runs she has come up against some smart horses, last start won well but will have a hard time with these other horses being so light in the weights.
Race 3 – 1600mtrs 0 – 89 Handicap – 02.10pm
Another favourite that looks hard to beat is No 3 Grail Journey $3, he has had 4 runs back this preparation and all have been good. Last start win at Moonee Valley sat off the leaders who were over racing, got going about 600mtrs out and in the straight found line well for a good win. Drops 1.5kgs on that run. No 7 Did We Win $8.50 I have watched his last 5 races and he has been unlucky and could have been closer in a few of them. Last start had to pull the rest of the field along sitting third as the two leaders cleared out, held up on the turn, got through a little late and was overrun, did a lot of work and give a chance. No 6 Star Scream $14 returned with an average first up run from the spell, that was back on the 18th of December and will have trained on since then, is very light carrying 52.5kgs and will be running on late. No 5 Skystreamer $9 just went down on Boxing Day over 1400mtrs here at Caulfield. Sat last and worked home well, will appreciate the extra metres.
Race 4 – 2000mtrs 0 – 82 Handicap – 02.50pm
No 7 Borscht $11 is a very good outside chance in this race. He has been racing well and around the mark. No 2 Lakedro $3.30 is the best runner in this race by far on form, his last start against Aloha was good. The only thing worrying me is the weight. No 3 Down Under Boy $11 will have to best foot forward here to get anywhere near the top two, is running well and been a little unlucky in some of his races. No 5 Trajet $13 is another that could place at nice odds for the multiples, this horse will get better with racing.
Race 5 – 1400mtrs Fillies 0 – 72 Handicap – 03.30pm
This is a really hard filly’s race with some nice horses going around, many have a good chance. No 2 Penski Material $5.50 is having her first hit out past 1200mtrs, her dad Hidden Dragon was good over 1400mtrs – 1600mtrs, will need to be put to sleep in the race as she does like to run on the pace. She does have a good finish on her. No 4 Jesse’s Miss $7 won on debut for Mark Kavanagh, it was only at Seymour and a fillies maiden but did win well. No 3 Safe $6.50 will push forward and make the pace genuine, is a nice horse but may use up to much energy getting to the lead. No 7 Lizawi $4.40 is bred to run this distance, she has looked very good to date and will get better with racing. No 6 Attivita $16 from the Moody camp won on debut, was a much easier race at Horsham on a slow track. Must respect this trainer and out of a nice horse Pins, so should run the distance no worries.
Race 6 – 1200mtrs L.T. Cleary Stakes Listed Race – 04.10pm
A hard race again, I cannot go past No 1 First Command $3.30 even with the 59kgs, has been freshened and as always will be ready for this and sure to give it a huge shake. No 14 Imperial Command $8.50 is the light weight, carrying the limit of 53kgs with Boss on board from barrier 2. Goes well fresh and if jumps well could get a lovely cart into the race. No 7 Midnight Mustang $9 has had a change of trainers and also first up here, goes well fresh and okay record at the distance. No 6 Ego's Dare $5 the Sydney sprinter is a smart horse, failed at his only start here but watch markets closely. For Multiples go wide and include numbers 13, 2, and 4 as well.
Race 7 – 1200mtrs Fillies and Mares 0 – 89 Handicap – 04.50pm
Exciting galloper No 3 Mid Summer Music $2.20 is second up after a convincing first up win on Boxing Day, she is a very nice horse and cannot see her being beat. I have already backed her in the early markets. No 1 Ariarni $7.50 first up has to be respected, she is two wins from two starts and sure to give Mid Summer Music a solid hit out. No 7 Luminous Harmony $9 wasn’t disgraced behind Mid Summer Music last start, did a little bit wrong in the race and should run a improved race. No 4 Little Gem $7 kept Mid Summer Music honest last start, again sure to give a good race.
Race 8 – 1400mtrs 0 – 82 Handicap – 05.30pm
This is another open race and No 5 At The Heads $3.50 is a lightly raced 4 year old that is on the brink of being more than just a decent horse. He is a fighter and will again give these something to beat. No 12 Itimo $7.50 two wins in a row from the spell and drops to only 53.5kgs with the claim, this is hardest task to date but at this weight a chance. No 10 Lizz $11 has two good runs back from the spell, is a nice horse and will make this an honest race. An outsider for the multiples, No 4 Translation $26 has been drawn terribly, will need luck and is light with the claim and could show up at the end.

Seymour Horse Racing Tips Thursday 6th January 2011
Race 1 – 1000mtrs 2yo Fillies Maiden Plate – 01.00pm
No 1 Chinchilla if she starts should walk this in, only two race starts were in Listed company, wasn’t completely disgraced there. This is way easier and should be a kill for her. Also the better track will suit her better. No 3 Iota I expect her to be much better for her only race run, she is well bred and should run a forward race. No 4 Pediment is a Lohnro filly so should go well fresh. No 2 Interruption I want to see over more distance as her dad was a smart distance runner.
Race 2 – 1300mtrs 3yo Fillies Maiden Plate – 01.35pm
No 7 Misery gets a big chance to break her duck. I have watched her last three runs and she finds the line well. No 9 Princess Mossman will push forward from this barrier and will be a chance to dictate the race, last start went a little too early and was run down late, fought hard and a chance for sure. No 10 Running on Faith first up run from the spell was eye catching, hit the line flying to just miss out over 1200mtrs. No 6 Merida Zeus I would have probably picked on top if didn’t draw barrier 17, will come in with scratching and still could give this a shake. Forget the 9 out of 10 finish last start, was a much better run than that. Slowly away then ran up on the rails and got boxed in and couldn’t get out the entire straight, looked to have plenty in the tank.
Race 3 – 1300mtrs Maiden Plate – 02.10pm
No 8 Metallic Grey drops way back in class here, last start wasn’t disgraced in open company at Caulfield, never really got going there but fought hard all the way, and his run against Proud Albert could have been closer with some luck. No 6 Torgannah came back from the spell with a nice run at Ballarat over 1200mtrs, will be fitter here. No 4 Hendry forget last start, is much better than that race. Gets blinkers for the first time and this could make a big difference. No 5 Horse Power One was beaten 35 lengths his only race, breeding is better than that, also the better track a help and could be worth a few dollars at big odds.
Race 4 – 1600mtrs Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate – 02.45pm
No 11 Jade’s Dilemma has been close to a win, last start just went to down and was scratched Tuesday from Stoney Creek. No 3 Here To Rock has been consistent this preparation and will again be a chance with the 3kg claim, will need to find and extra length to win this. No 1 Assertion is the class runner, out of Zabeel and should want this distance, blinkers first time could turn form around. No 14 Rossan is out of Testa Rossa and a good trainer, hasn’t been flash to date but I expect improvement.
Race 5 – 2000mtrs 0 – 68 Handicap – 03.20pm
No 7 Tanah Lot won well last start at Ballarat came from barrier 14 carrying 58kgs, should get the extra 400mtrs on breeding. No 3 Don Sebastian is close to a win, last start had to push out late and found line well too late. No 2 Orienteer is running well, last two starts at Moonee Valley have been good. No 6 Nazabeel could be the improver here, looks better this preparation and came from a long way back last start finding the line well.
Race 6 – 1000mtrs 0 – 72 Handicap – 04.00pm
No 4 Alpha Proxima has been freshened and will be very hard to beat, strong over this distance and Oliver will give him every chance. No 5 Face Off has done well since coming to Australia, returns from the spell and should sprint well fresh and a threat. No 2 Forays is also first up and goes well fresh and should be forward. No 3 Vain Partner is not such a bad sprinter and been around the mark of late.
Race 7 – 1300mtrs 0 – 68 Handicap – 04.40pm
No 3 Fantastic Porscha didn’t trial well but I liked his last run before the spell, I think he will have trained on since the trial and should run forward. No 7 Flash O’Brilliance is first up, I have watched his races to date and he can find the line well and could surprise fresh. No 9 Kyiv Road returned from a long spell with 3 good runs to date, last start win but will need to find a few extra yards in speed. No 4 Mild Mannered won well here at Seymour last start, does go up a bit in weight.
Race 8 – 1600mtrs 0 – 62 Handicap – 05.20pm
No 8 Phellini is going to be light with the 3kg claim. Is racing very well and will be hard to beat. No 7 Danahere returned with a solid run first up, looks like a horse that should win these easier country races. No 5 Demonic has drawn barrier 17 but will come in with scratchings, this is a horse that will win the odd midweek or even Saturday metropolitan race. No 2 Ask Me Nicely is a chance for the multiples.
