I am a professional punter living outside Australia. I punt for a living and for years been helping my mates out with my tips. I have friends on the inside and a professional at reading form. I watch 100’s of videos each week to pick my winners.
I only bet on Victorian races. At times when Victorian horses are interstate I will offer tips at those meetings.
I have decided to share my tips, hopefully to help the normal punter win a few bucks on the weekend.
Remember, never bet more than you can afford to lose. If gambling is a problem contact professional help in your state, city or country. Victoria Horse Racing supports responsible gambling initiatives.
Good luck if having a punt and remember to gamble responsibly.
Flemington Races 12th June 2010
It is a heavy track and showers are forecast so we will be looking for the wet trackers. The jockeys were not happy with Flemington track last week as there were many flat spots where horses tore big chunks out of the track and went flat. It is reported to be from bugs eating the roots of the grass so some horses could again hit spots like this and lose momentum at the worse time.
Race 1 – 11.50am – Not a strong race to open. A few first starters that I don’t think will win as they will probably need more distance looking at the breeding. No 2 Tempest Belle $7.50 has 2 solid runs under her belt, racing is invaluable experience and she fought hard for a gutsy win last start. No 1 Rockabee Miss $5 won on debut 217 days ago and then put away. It was a nice win but well up in weight here. His dad Fastnet Rock won on a slow track on should handle the track. No 10 Storm Burst $4.60 first start was solid before spelling for 140 days, Peter Moody turns out good horses so respect.
Race 2 – 12.25pm – No 7 Gunawati $3 from Mark Kavanagh ran a nice first up race, was last out the gates at Moonee Valley, worked 2 wide to 4th at the turn and solid to the line. Drops 2kgs as well. No 3 Anniversary $2.60 is from Gai Waterhouse and first start in Melbourne. Her win first up at a midweek meet at Kensington was very nice. Raced on the speed and then took off in the straight for an impressive win. Watch markets carefully for any moves. No 1 Jaggers $9, this is a long way from Bendigo and Echuca but his win at Echuca was a very good run. Raced 5 wide in the straight and hit line hard with plenty of toe and a 3kg claim means he will be light at 54kgs.
Race 3 – 1.00pm - No 4 Red Buttons $3.80 has two very solid runs this preparation. Led and dictated the race last start win here at Flemington and drops 4kgs with the claim on that run. From barrier one will again be able to lead. No 7 Definitive $11 could be a huge improver here. If you watch the video of the race at Sandow midweek after straightening was impeded about 4 times in the run to the line and when 200mtrs out jumped a shadow that unbalanced the horse but still got home 2nd only 0.5 length away from the winner. No 2 Savquaw $4 and No 3 Tindal $4.40 both have good chances of filling the multiples.
Race 4 – 1.35pm – No 5 Tan Tat Tess $5 should really be eating up this distance with her breeding. Lat start win showed a glimpse of the talent she should have and hit the line very hard. No 3 Winged Charm $3 won well first up and has 1 win for 1 start. The claim keeps her 0.5kg under last start weight. No 8 Lavia $10 could be the big improver, from breeding should handle the wet and form last preparation was solid against some smart horses. For sure will get back but best work will happen in the straight.
Race 5 – 2.15pm – No 3 Dubleanny (special) is in from $4 to $2.50 is taking all before and this should be the case here as well. I backed her and is my best bet of the day. She hasn’t started on a heavy track yet but her mum Uncanny Lad out of Canny Lad won his only start on a heavy. No 4 Undeniably $3.90 will be a huge improver from last start and you can just forget that run completely. Pulled hard early, raced onto heels, lost a fore-plate and was also galloped on. Form before is very solid and will be in this for sure. No 5 Tan Tat Brav $6 was cast in the gates last start and vetted and passed to run. Put in a bad race and then ran wide and no cover. Forget run and must give another chance as form is much better than this run.
Race 6 – 2.59pm – No 11 Offenders $5.50 is a lightly raced 4yo, has a good second up record and out of Canny Lad so the track no problem you think. The barrier 12 isn’t ideal. No 4 Philda $7.50 is in barrier 18 and will more than likely be scratched and run on Thursday in Seymour. If starts must respect as wet form solid. No 8 Makeadreamcometrue $18 is also nominated for Seymour Thursday, also has good wet track form and distance so respect if starts. No 5 Dr. Doute’s $7.50 hasn’t shown great form the 3 runs this preparation but expect a much better horse here as is much better than the form suggests. If there are a few scratching throw in No 3 Jungle Ruler $6.50 as the old guy is solid on the wet.
Race 7 – 3.39pm – This is another very hard race with plenty of chances. No 8 Fiscal $21 has a nasty barrier 13 but as the distances have got longer is improving as you would expect. Is a Shamardal who won 3 group 1 races 1400-2100mtrs from his only 3 starts and 2 million in prize money so this distance should be what he is looking for. No 5 Far to Go $21 is the same, his dad Golan won 2 group 1 races from only 2 starts from 1400-2400mtrs and close to 2 million in money. No 2 Stoneblack $7.50 is also nominated for Monday at Moonee Valley, is drawn wide here but is running well and a chance if starts. No 1 Star Scream $10 strong form and a Testa Rossa. Interesting runner is No 4 Tully Prince $13 was scratched from midweek Sandow to run here and won well at Cranbourne last start on a heavy track. I am willing to risk the favourite No 7 Vesper $3.20 and is also nominated on Thursday at Seymour. I want to see on the heavy track as his dad never won on one.
Race 8 – 4.19pm – No 6 Reprisal $5.50 from David Hayes is a Galileo and should love the wet and form is very solid. Should be super fit at this stage of his preparation. No 8 Riveted $7 as the distances have gone up so has his form. This is a long way from his last start Casterton win but it was impressive. No 1 Light Vision $7 is also nominated on Monday at Moonee Valley is a consistent horse and form solid on wet tracks. If scratchings No 9 Chase the Sun $13 has also improved with each run as distance has increased. No 4 Old Jock $4.60 seems a little short in this market but watch betting on him.
The quadrella for the day will be a hard one to pick. I am banking on the first leg and Dubleanny as a standout and then see what scratchings bring in the morning. At the moment I am looking at:
Quadrella races 5,6,7,8 my numbers are 3 / 3,4,5,8,11 / 1,2,4,5,8 / 1,4,6,8,9 at a cost of $125 dollars.
