Caulfield Cup Horse Racing Tips Saturday 16th October 2010 Victoria Australia.

I am a professional punter living outside Australia. I punt for a living and for years been helping my mates out with my tips. I have friends on the inside and a professional at reading form. I watch 100’s of videos each week to pick my winners.

I only bet on Victorian races. At times when Victorian horses are interstate I will offer tips at those meetings.

I have decided to share my tips, hopefully to help the normal punter win a few bucks on the weekend.

Remember, never bet more than you can afford to lose. If gambling is a problem contact professional help in your state, city or country. Victoria Horse Racing supports responsible gambling initiatives.

Good luck if having a punt and remember to gamble responsibly.

Caulfield Cup Horse Racing Tips Saturday 16th October 2010

It’s a very heavy track and more rain to come, so looking at the mudlarks running on out wide. Hope we can have a good day on the punt.

Race 1 – 1400mtrs - 11.30am – No 7 Alotta Spur $4.50 is out of Jet Spur and Gold Lottey. Jet Spur was a 1000mtr – 1200mtr horse but Gold Lottey won a G3 over 1600mtrs and she is out of Encosta De Lago who also is fine over the distance. I think Alotta Spur is going to be a big improver, last start a big bump at the start and then held up in the straight before making good ground. No 13 Margiela $12 has a bad barrier in 14 but also drops 3.5kgs, but I like her last two runs, her win at Geelong was good, led then eased, then again hit lead and fought and pulled away. Last start a hard run with no cover and also bumped around the 100mtr mark. No 12 What a Beauty $6 from Darren Weir is going to be super fit here, probably the race she was set for this spring. Will need to be at her best to win this but a chance. No 2 Ain’tnofallenstar $9 really found the line late last start for a good win.

Race 2 – 1400mtrs – 12.10pm – It is impossible to go past No 1 Skilled $2, he was just off Anacheeva who just won the Caulfield Guineas and ½ a head to Yosei who just won the 1000 Guineas. Is a smart horse and will be primed for this for sure. No 3 Mr Chard $7 was really working home well last start, I have him in the black book and if Skilled wasn’t in this race he would be on top. No 5 Ace Acosta $8.50 has come back from the spell looking a good horse, this is the hardest test to date but well bred. No 7 Meredith $12 is a good price, he has talent and is well bred. This is a hard race but I think will be around the mark.

Race 3 – 2000mtrs - 12.45pm – No 4 Dizlago $6, I like how this filly has stepped up in distance. Her last run is much better than it looks on paper. Was wide midfield bumping, went back to last and again found trouble before the turn. Came wide in the straight and really motored the last 100mtrs. No 3 Speed of Dark $4.40 has 4 excellent runs under her belt back from the spell and will be really fit and a big chance here. No 5 Golden Tabby $8.50 is another horse that will be very fit and has run solid races back from the spell, sure to give it a shake. No 1 Precious Lorraine $16 for the multiples and value. She is better than she has been running.

Race 4 – 2000mtrs – 01.20pm – No 5 Rekindled Interest $4.20 is backing up, this horse is motoring and has been a little unlucky. This is one of my best bets of the day I backed at $4.60 and I am sure it will shorten. No 1 Retrieve $2.70 comes back to Melbourne after a successful 2 start run in Sydney. His run in the Spring Champion Stakes was a ripper and just went down. Was 5 wide a good 600mtrs and chased hard all the way to go down by a neck. No 3 Altius $10 I have watched all his 5 runs and he impresses me. I really think he is going to be a good horse and he has been a little unlucky in his races, really finds the line well. No 9 Shadowofexcellence $11 only has two starts to his name and last start showed a lot of guts, will fight this right out.

Race 5 – 1100mtrs – 02.00pm – This is a really nice race with some very good horses. No 7 Dubleanny $4.20 returns from her spell, she was on fire last preparation and is going to be very hard to beat. She is light at 53.5kgs and can handle the wet. No 6 Definitely Ready $9 just ran out of legs last start, is going to be fitter and has an excellent second up record and just the track that is a worry for her. No 1 Eagle Falls $8 impressed me first up, was a solid run a horse that could be going on to be a superstar. No 4 Soul $3 and favourite handles the wet and is light and deserves to be favourite but will have a big fight on his hands. No 2 Set for Fame $4.80 for multiples.

Race 6 – 14000mtrs – 02.40pm – Another excellent race with some very nice horses. No 7 Demerit $7 come back from the spell with a very good run against the smart Hot Danish, back in September 09 beat Starspangledbanner over 1400mtrs (did have a unlucky run Starspangledbanner). No 10 Dao Dao $5 (in from $9.50) also returned from the spell against Hot Danish and ran a very good race, was out slowly then worked through traffic well and found the line running. No 6 Gathering $8 I really like how he won last start, was away badly and a jockey a little unbalanced before dictating the race, leading to the line. No 11 Woorim $7 I an giving another chance as is finding the line well, came from well back last start against Gathering to finish only 3 lengths away. No 5 Jungle Ruler $6.50 the old guy keep safe in multiples.

Race 7 – 2000mtrs – 03.20pm – No 8 Purple $3.20 (In from $5.20) is a little short for me but I really think is going to be hard to beat. Comes into this race light and running very well, just look at the horses he has been running against. No 1 C’est La Guerre $5.50 was impressive winning last start and drops 2kgs, is finding the line very well and building up his Melbourne Cup campaign well. No 10 Zoomin $8.50 needs to be respected, is good in the wet and solid over the distance and probably the best distance jockey on board. No 5 Rainbow Styling $8.50 and No 9 Playwright $17 for multiples. I am interested to see No 13 Becqu Adoree $13 have her first start in Australia.

Race 8 – 2400mtrs Caulfield Cup – 04.05pm – This is a hard race as usual. Good odds whichever horse wins. No 1 Shocking $5 (I backed at $12) is just going to get better with distance, looked very good after a hard run to just miss the win last start, likes it wet and an excellent chance to add the Caulfield Cup to his Melbourne Cup win. No 17 Faint Perfume $7 from Bart Cummings is very light and will like the sting out of the ground, Boss on board sure to give he every chance. No 2 Metal Bender $10 another horse running well and can handle the wet, is drawn well but will need to get off to a good start from barrier 2. No 7 Manighar $12 from France having his first start, watch markets carefully. No 6 Harris Tweed $17 and No 12 Alcopop $9 (unlucky with barrier 22) for multiples.

Race 9 - 1400mtrs – 04.50pm – No 3 Culminate $15 has an excellent chance, barrier 2 is a worry as the track will surely chop up but if gets away well and stays off the rail and gets some leaders to cart him along will give this a huge shake. No 1 Hot Danish $3.20 is very short but is going to be very, very hard to beat. She has two 2nds on a heavy track and both group 1 races. In the G1 Queen of the Turf and Coolmore Classic, is in top form. No 12 Believe ‘N’ Achieve $12 is light and the wet track no worries. No 14 Aloha $11 is a chance even though the bad barrier, No 13 Live in Sin $8 and No 5 No Evidence Needed $8 for multiples.

Race 10 – 1100mtrs – 05.30pm – No 4 Sunday Rose $6.50 has a good a chance as do a few others. She returned with a nice win at Moonee Valley, is sure to have trained on and the wet track shouldn’t be a worry. No 6 Miss Octopussy $6.50 has returned from the spell with 2 good runs, last start a very nice win. If you go back to her last preparation and her 3 wins against Dubleanny, they were all very solid. No 3 Netra $7.50, beware of this country trainer and horse. Sunday Rose just edged her out last start and will again be in this a long way. No 20 Varenna Miss $4.50 favourite has drawn barrier 19 but will come in with scratchings, her win returning from the spell was good and very good time for Ballarat and she did win by a big margin and easily, this barrier is a worry to me. Also for multiples add No 1o Little Gem $9.

It is a big day of racing and you will need to go wide in your multiples but they should be good value on a day like this. My quadrella is expensive but will wait until the morning and see what is scratched and also wait on the track report and first few races to see the bias. Good luck if punting and don’t bet more than you can afford. Gamble responsibly and stick to your budget. Don’t go chasing your loses.

If you want to know what I am backing, leave a comment and your email. It won’t be published and I will send through my bets and also my best multiples for the day.
