I am a professional punter living outside Australia. I punt for a living and for years been helping my mates out with my tips. I have friends on the inside and a professional at reading form. I watch 100’s of videos each week to pick my winners.
I only bet on Victorian races. At times when Victorian horses are interstate I will offer tips at those meetings.
I have decided to share my tips, hopefully to help the normal punter win a few bucks on the weekend.
Remember, never bet more than you can afford to lose. If gambling is a problem contact professional help in your state, city or country. Victoria Horse Racing supports responsible gambling initiatives.
Good luck if having a punt and remember to gamble responsibly.
Mornington Horse Racing Tips Wednesday 16th February 2011
Race 1 – 1600mtrs Maiden Plate – 12.00pm
No 6 Domesky has returned his spell with a solid first up run, met the very good looking Lohengrin who gave all a galloping lesson, he will be better for that run and also stepping up in distance a big plus. Has been around in some much harder races and a big chance to break his duck here. No 14 Timber Cat and No 5 Derisive both ran in the same race last start, both good performances coming from back in the field. I lean a little toward Derisive as did run into a little trouble in the run but Timber Cat also got pocketed in the straight. No 4 Almodovar returned with a good first up run, was up on the pace a little wide before fanning on the turn but never really got going but respect the stable.
Race 2 – 1000mtrs Class 1 Handicap – 12.30pm
No 7 Kya last start win is better than it looks on paper, was hampered badly at the start before mustering into a good position, then once straightening raced greenly and shifted out but managed to still find the line for a good win. A big run. No 3 Tycoon Express returns from a freshen up, I like what I have watched of him. Forget his last run as it was tough, too wide and just weakened out of the race, the run at Ballarat two starts back was an eye catcher, again wide and did a lot of work before finding the line for a good win. No 4 Zipit from Leon Cortstens won on debut at Hanging Rock, this is much harder but an honest trainer and watch markets. No 5 Marvellous Miss is returning from a spell, she could go well fresh her as she did win her trial over She’s Got Gears but will be better over more distance for sure.
Race 3 – 1200mtrs 3yo & up Fillies and Mares 0 – 62 Handicap – 01.00pm
No 3 Glancing from Kavanagh was expected to win last start and had every chance, she is expected to be a better than average horse and should want this distance, I think a big improver as the jockey did report that she wanted to lay in last start in the straight. No 10 Gypsy Rock (nom Fri) from Tinkler I would keep a close eye on the markets. Hasn’t set the world on fire to date but watching some of her Queensland runs she could be a good improver. No 6 Caprock I am going to keep a big watch on the markets and my friend at the track an ear on the ground, this horse has been miserable on wet tracks but last start on the dead showed some of her dad’s breeding, jumped away badly but motored home from the 200mtrs, looked good and I am keeping $500 each way for her. No 1 De La Laq has a terrible barrier, won on debut and will need Williams to ride a perfect race with this weight but respect.
Race 4 – 2000mtrs 3yo 0 – 62 Handicap – 01.35pm
No 3 Portland Success a Savabeel gelding has two runs back this preparation and looked good winning last start, it was only Terang but worked into the race from well back and hit the line strongly, the time is good and if runs around the 2-04.00 mark should win this. No 8 Tully Tithe is racing well and this is a weak race, Maskiell claims 1.5kgs and sure to be in the finish. No 5 Mr. Consolidator last start forget and give a chance, was away badly and never really got going, breeding is okay for distance and his mum won over 1900mtrs in NZ I think and with Oliver on board sure to get every chance. No 1 Luckyi’mbarefoot is carrying weightbut been around in group and listed races much harder than this.
Race 5 – 1500mtrs 0 – 68 Handicap – 02.10pm
No 1 Danz Boy (nom Fri night) has a bad barrier and up in weight but is racing so well, if he starts here he will need a little luck but is flying a chance for sure. No 9 Lonhreign should be favourite for this and maybe a little short but did run a big race last start, was badly away and then caught wide with no cover the entire race. Fought hard all the way to the line. No 7 Buster McGee has drawn wide but the 3kg claim a bonus and with some luck should come home strong. I have liked what I have watched of him. No 2 Elite Spy has come back from the spell racing well, will be fit and sure to give this a good go.
Race 6 – 1200mtrs 2yo Inglis Premier Set Weights – 02.45pm
The young horses are stepping out in this 250K race. No 12 Amour Cache $5.50 (Special) from the Moody camp has drawn a much better barrier and if you watch this race you see she was 10 wide the first 300mtrs and unable to cross before dropping in behind the field. At the 400 switches around heels again coming 7 or 8 wide and from the 200mtr on starts to motor. A big run and very impressive. No 1 Delago’s Lad $4.40 has drawn wide but it was a nice win returning from his spell, he looked very good winning and could be a smart colt in the making. No 2 Masthead $4.20 returns from his spell, looked good at Moonee Valley before going down the straight at Flemington, this was a good run in the Group 3 race. No 10 Noble Twostep $10 is jumping up in class here but I like her win at Cranbourne and could run a surprise race here.
Race 7 – 1200mtrs Hareeba Stakes (Listed) Handicap – 03.20pm
No 5 Launay $4 is returning from his spell, really hit his straps last preparation and is solid first up and the distance, exciting to see him return. No 2 Captain Coltish $5 (nom Sat) returns from a long spell, is a little wide but does have speed and Moody will have him ready. No 15 Little Gem $17(nom Fri) has been freshened up, she is a smart little mare that is consistent and Boss will give her every chance. No 11 Harkaway $11 has two good runs back from the spell, is very good at the distance and could sneak into the places.
Race 8 – 2400mtrs $300,000 Mornington Cup (Listed) – 04.00pm
No 3 Cedarberg $3.30 the locally trained horse has had very good money come for him, opened at $4.60 in the markets and I had a wager at $4.00 but has continued to tumble in. His last start win at Sandown was good and can run this distance out without any worries. No 11 Shewan $6.50 Boss rode a perfect race last start and will again be right in this. No 2 Mr. Bentley $5.50 (nom Sat) will be in this a long way but might find it a little too far. No 1 Macedonian $7 (nom Sat) has been freshened and Moody will have him ready as this is an exemption for the Caulfield Cup.
Race 9 – 2000mtrs 0 – 72 Handicap – 04.40pm
No 7 Keep Cool $4.60 Boss has another good ride here. Is racing well and jumps up in class again but drops weight. No 4 Cheddington $21 (Nom Fri Sun) has been up a long time but must respect this stable and is decent over the distance. No 5 Bolton $2.70 (nom Fri Sat Sun) has again drawn wide but must respect as last start ran a good race after being caught wide. Is back up in weight and will have to put best foot forward to win this. No 6 Far To Go $4.80 should run this out and keep safe in multiples.
Race 10- 1200mtrs 0 – 72 Handicap – 05.20pm
No 1 Adaptor $5.50 (nom Fri) returned with a good first up hit out, the 3kg claim a big help and sure to be around the mark. No 5 Second Effort $6 returns from his spell, does have a win over the distance and it was a good win at Warrnambool. No 2 Pity The Fool $7.50 is stepping out to the 1200mtrs first time this preparation, was away from racing for a long time but looks good since returning. No 15 Merryvale $8 (nom Fri Sat) a Moody runner keep an eye on markets but should need a run and more distance.
